There are several different types of programs to fit your unique Study Abroad needs. Each program’s program type is indicated on the program’s webpage found in the Program Search. If you have questions regarding your program type, please contact our office for clarification.
Arizona Abroad Locations
At Arizona Abroad Locations, you’ll benefit from the amenities of a host university while learning alongside other students from University of Arizona and from around the world.
- Course Options: Wide variety. Global Tracks with pre-approved courses for your major or minor may be available.
- Credit Type: Transfer credit
- Instructors: International partner
- Space Limits or Waitlists: No
Search Arizona Abroad Locations
Exchange
On an exchange program, you’ll experience a high level of cultural immersion and independence by living as an international student at a partner university.
- Course Options: Wide variety. Global Tracks with pre-approved courses for your major or minor may be available.
- Credit Type: Transfer credit
- Instructors: International partner
- Space Limits or Waitlists: Yes
Faculty-Led
On a faculty-led program, you’ll have your own community of instructors and students from the University of Arizona with you abroad. These programs are hosted by different U of A departments and each have specific themes and learning outcomes.
- Course Options: Specific courses tailored to the program’s theme
- Credit Type: Direct credit
- Instructors: University of Arizona, sometimes in collaboration with International Partner
- Space Limits or Waitlists: Depends on program
Internships & Research
These programs are a great way to gain hands-on experience in your desired career field while immersing yourself in another culture outside of the classroom setting. Credit type and space available depend on the program.
Non-UA Programs
If none of the University of Arizona Study Abroad programs meet your needs, study abroad programs are also available from outside providers.
