Understanding Study Abroad Expenses
Below, we have listed the general types of expenses you can expect to find common to most study abroad programs. To find the cost estimates for a specific program, find that program’s webpage in the Program Search.
General Expenses
Tuition & Fees
The following charges will be billed through your Bursar’s account:
- Study Abroad Application Fee
- International Health Insurance
- Tuition and/or program fees
For Arizona Abroad programs and Exchange programs, students are charged regular University of Arizona tuition and can use most forms of financial aid and scholarships.
For faculty led programs, students are charged a program fee and can use only certain forms of financial aid and scholarships.
Travel & Living Expenses
You’ll pay for other necessary expenses directly:
- Books and Supplies
- Flights
- Housing
- Food
- Personal Care
- Phone Service
Additional Spending
