The strong international connection between Chapingo Autonomous University in Mexico and the University of Arizona's (UA), Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) has continued to grow tremendously over the past 25 years.

The fifth-largest city in Brazil, which has a University of Arizona alumnus as its mayor and is involved in close collaboration with the UA, has been selected as one of five winners of the 2015 Gobernarte Award, presented by Inter-American Development Banks (IDB).

Three UA doctoral students collected $6,000 in prize money during the second annual Grad Slam competition, hosted by the UA's Graduate College, Graduate Center and Graduate and Professional Student Council.

The recent drought that began in 1998 in the eastern Mediterranean’s Levant region is likely the worst drought of the past nine centuries, according to new research from a team that includes three University of Arizona scientists. The Levant comprises Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

As home to one of the largest Paul D. Coverdell Fellows programs in the country, the UA benefits from Peace Corps volunteers bringing back valuable experiences in more than 50 countries.

The University of Arizona (UA) is one of the Top Producers of Fulbright U.S. Scholars for 2015-2016. UA faculty members have traveled to various countries around the world to teach or conduct research on specific areas of expertise through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program including Suzanne Dovi, Stephen Kobourov and Craig Palmer. 

Since the first Arizona Chinese New Year Festival, held at the UA in 2010, Larry Lang, program manager at theConfucius Institute at the UA, has served as the artistic director for the event. 

Dr. Salman Abdulrahman Al Sudairy, who was recently in Tucson as part of the UA-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) reunion, is an entrepreneur in Saudi Arabia with many different business interests.

DP World, a Dubai-based company led by UA alumnus Mohammed Sharaf, has entered into an agreement with Eller Executive Education for a leadership program.
