Extended Spring Semester Program:

The Enhanced Summer Semester Program (ESSP) provides an excellent opportunity for Spring study abroad students who have had little or no German language instruction to experience total immersion in the country's language and culture prior to the start of the semester.

The modules of the ESSP Program

ESSP participants may choose from the following module combinations:

  • Module 1 (Winter University) only
  • Module 2 (German Language Intensive Course) and 3 (standard Spring semester)

During Module 1, the six-week Winter University program in January and February, students take German language courses as well as a topical course of their choosing. 2023 Winter University courses will be updated in December.

During Module 2, the German Language Intensive Course course in March and April, students take in-depth German language courses (A1 through C1 levels available). This course is also offered prior to the Fall semester for Academic Year study abroad students.
