My name is Yan, and I am originally from Henan, China. Mandarin is my first language. Currently, I live in Tucson, where the University of Arizona locates. I've traveled to many countries besides China and the U.S. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA Economics major. I overcame difficulties like language barriers, culture shocks, etc. Helping students to overcome similar challenges and achieve their academic goal makes my life purposeful.
My favorite thing about UArizona
The campus is surrounded by green grass and big trees. I love walking on campus to enjoy the fresh air and blue sky.
My recommendations for places international students should explore in Tucson
Students have many things to do outside the classroom. I highly recommend international students to explore outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and camping.
My top tip for success at a U.S. university
Don’t be afraid to ask questions or for help. Students do not need to speak perfect English to communicate. The University of Arizona has many resources to help students to succeed. Faculty and staffs are super friendly and they are eager to help students.
