Project ManagerAs a project manager, Lysette’s works across teams to build collaborations and processes within the department. She often works on special projects related to data, benchmarking, and reporting.
Lysette is originally from California. She earned her BA in Political Science from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Higher Education from The University of Arizona. Her research focuses on internationalization, cultural humility, online learning, and transnational education. She served in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Philippines. She works to build relationships to further develop bi-national collaboration across the U.S.-Mexico Border. Lysette is on the 2022-2023 CUES Spanning Boundaries Team that creates opportunities for service-learning in the borderlands. She was the inaugural chair for the Latinx Faculty and Staff Association (LFSA), which aims to build a culture of uplifting the Latinx community. Among her awards is recognition as one of Tucson’s 40 Under 40. She also received the College of Education’s Outstanding Graduate Student Award, the University of Arizona’s Centennial Achievement Award, and the Lexie Kamerman Dedication to Social Justice Award, she is an Erasmus Circle Scholar and was a UArizona HSI Fellow (2020-2021).
