Hey all, Katie here! I’m originally from the cheesehead state, Wisconsin, but love calling the beautiful city of Tucson home. I hold a Masters in Student Affairs Administration and a Bachelors in Mathematics, and I’ve lived/studied/traveled to nearly 40 countries! I’ve been working with international students for the last 10+ years and in my free time, you’ll find me outdoors: running, hiking, camping and biking.
My favorite thing about UArizona
I studied at a smaller university and never truly understood what it meant to “feel the campus spirit” until I came to Arizona. There’s an energy and vibrancy to campus that is contagious. You’ll immediately want to put on Arizona Red and Arizona Blue to soak up the Wildcat Spirit.
My recommendations for places international students should explore in Tucson
One of the best things about Tucson is the access to delicious food. That’s restaurants, grocery stores, food trucks, etc. I highly recommend you Google your favorite cuisine and see what Tucson has to offer!
My top tip for success at a U.S. university
There will be a lot of “new” things when you arrive to main campus. Not just new to university, but new to the U.S., new to the desert, maybe new to the language. I recommend you embrace the newness and say “yes” to every opportunity!
