On January 24, over 200 faculty and staff from the University of Arizona attended Vice President for Arizona International and Dean of International Education Dr. Jenny Lee’s presentation “The University of Arizona’s Global Position and Opportunities.” Organized by the Office of the Provost, the event offered the campus community a glimpse into Arizona International’s work, successes, objectives, and vision for the future.
As someone whose life was profoundly impacted by international education, Dr. Lee emphasized the global impact of international education on individuals and communities. From poverty and war to climate change and disappearing ecosystems, international education plays a vital role in helping to solve the world’s grand challenges.
As part of the presentation, Dr. Lee also introduced the multiple units that comprise Arizona International, defining their purposes, outlining their growth, and noting their impact on the University. She also identified increasing international student enrollment, the exploration of new revenue streams, and improving our global rankings as key strategic objectives moving forward.
In closing, Dr. Lee reiterated her vision for Arizona International: “To become a global leader in international education, making a lasting and positive impact on individuals and communities worldwide.” She also invited faculty members to connect and collaborate with Arizona International to promote the continued growth of UArizona internationalization.
