The University of Arizona Introduces MS in Information Science in Collaboration with Great Learning

Enabling professionals with the skills to organize, store and represent data, this comprehensive and carefully designed program covers a range of information science areas, from the fundamentals to the complex.

The University of Arizona in collaboration with Great Learning have introduced a new and fully online MS in Information Science for students living outside North America. This 21-month program is designed for early career, mid and senior-level professionals, and is taught by leading experts at the University of Arizona and practicing industry professionals.

The program will equip professionals with the knowledge to design information-driven solutions for business problems and develop effective management frameworks for the future. With live online classes and recorded lectures, there are 11 hands-on projects and dedicated mentorship sessions to enhance the learning experience. 

The University of Arizona is ranked in the top 50 U.S. public universities by U.S. News & World Report 2022 and is known for advancing frontiers of interdisciplinary scholarship and entrepreneurial partnerships. The University’s collaboration with Great Learning, a leading global edtech company for professional training and higher education, and part of the BYJU group, has been facilitated by Arizona International, responsible for guiding the university’s worldwide academic engagement and program development.

“This innovative international partnership with the BYJU group enhances and extends the reach of the UArizona MS in Information Science,” said Daniel Palm, associate vice president for international affairs at the University of Arizona. “Students around the world will now have an opportunity to gain advanced qualifications through an online or 1+1 hybrid (1 online + 1 in-person ) learning model."

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment opportunities for information research and computer scientists are projected to grow by 22% by 2030. Information Science is one of the fastest-growing domains in the tech world today, especially given that the total amount of digital data created worldwide will rise to 163 zettabytes by 2025 as per the IDC. It will become imperative for businesses to hire professionals with the know-how to manage and analyze data with the latest technologies. Learners will gain the specialized skills needed to solve real-world information management challenges and will graduate with the qualifications needed for in-demand roles including information architect, database administrator, data scientist/engineer, digital artist, software programmer/engineer, web programmer, etc.
