According to Club President Yunchen Liu, the U of A Chinese Alumni Club is dedicated to enhancing friendships among alumni, promoting individual and professional development, and providing a platform for sharing and exchanging ideas.

"Our goal is to make progress together, support alumni enterprises, and enhance the UA brand and visibility in China," Liu said.

Attendees were greeted with a welcoming video message from Assistant Vice President for Middle East and North African Affairs Hassan Hijazi and presented with U of A alumni pins courtesy of University of Arizona International. They also enjoyed a variety of activities, including live music, singing, Q&A prizes, and a special "Tucson Memory" chorus performed by the alumni.

One of the highlights was a lecture by Dr. Shen Dingli, a professor from Shanghai Fudan University, on "Opportunities and Innovations under the New Relationship between China and the U.S." Additionally, Alicia Edwards, Chief of Public Affairs Section, U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai delivered an inspiring speech to the crowd of Wildcats.

The club has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to expand its activities and reach more alumni across China. To support alumni in different regions, the club is establishing branches in cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen. Upcoming events include alumni recruitment seminars, corporate visits, salon concerts, online sharing sessions, sports and cultural activities, holiday gatherings, industry networking, entrepreneurship sharing sessions, wine tasting sessions, and multiple location reunions.

For the 2025 Alumni Night, the club is considering hosting the event in other major cities, such as Beijing or Shenzhen, to broaden its impact. The Alumni Night events in 2023 and 2024 were well-received, and the club has successfully engaged alumni from different eras, including an alumnus who enrolled in 1977.

The U of A Chinese Alumni Club's recent event and ambitious future plans highlight its dedication to building a robust, supportive network for alumni in China. As the club continues to grow, it serves as a crucial connection between alumni and their alma mater, spreading Wildcat spirit worldwide.
