Sampoerna University and University of Arizona Celebrate Dual Degree Graduates

In September, Sampoerna University celebrated the graduation of 99 students who received dual degrees from Sampoerna and the University of Arizona. The ceremony, held at Sampoerna Strategic Square in Jakarta, underscores the growing success of the dual-degree programs offered through the U of A’s global microcampus initiative. 

Dr. Marshall E. Schott, President of Sampoerna University, and Tri Tjahjono, University of Arizona Location Manager for Jakarta, were in attendance to congratulate the graduates and celebrate their achievements.

The graduating class consisted of students from four key disciplines, all of whom are well-prepared to excel in their respective fields both in Indonesia and globally:

Ninty-nine students received dual degrees from Sampoerna and the University of Arizona in September.

Business Administration: Forty-six students earned degrees in business administration. The program equips graduates with the necessary skills to thrive in a variety of industries across Southeast Asia and beyond. Students gain a deep understanding of economic concepts, mathematical relationships, and crucial analytical and communication skills needed for successful careers in fields such as finance, marketing, and operations.

Industrial Engineering: Twenty-four students completed the industrial engineering program, which combines knowledge of engineering, business, and communications. Graduates are now proficient in areas like e-commerce, supply chain management, distributions & logistics, and process optimization, allowing them to contribute to modern industry operations with a focus on production and process efficiency.

Mechanical Engineering: Fourteen students received dual degrees in mechanical engineering, a field focused on designing, analyzing, and maintaining mechanical systems. These graduates have specialized knowledge in dynamics and controls, nanotechnology, thermal sciences, and solid and fluid mechanics, with applications ranging from military hardware to medical prosthetics.

Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE): Fifteen students earned degrees in ECE, a program that emphasizes creativity in research and innovation. Through hands-on projects, internships, and collaborative learning experiences, these graduates are prepared to lead in areas such as health care, energy, and the high-tech business sector.

This cohort of students represents the potential for future leaders and innovators in Indonesia and the global market.
