Three UA doctoral students collected $6,000 in prize money during the second annual Grad Slam competition, hosted by the UA's Graduate College, Graduate Center and Graduate and Professional Student Council.

Alyssa Goya, a senior in the University of Arizona Honors College, was recently invited to serve in the Peace Corps as an education volunteer to teach 10 to 14 year-olds English at primary schools in South Africa for two years.

The recent drought that began in 1998 in the eastern Mediterranean’s Levant region is likely the worst drought of the past nine centuries, according to new research from a team that includes three University of Arizona scientists. The Levant comprises Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

DP World, a Dubai-based company led by UA alumnus Mohammed Sharaf, has entered into an agreement with Eller Executive Education for a leadership program.

Hitomi Murai, a staff member of MEXT in Japan, is currently being hosted at the University of Arizona (UA) Office of Global Initiatives as part of her Long-term Educational Administrator Program (LEAP) experience. Previously, she worked for Elementary and Secondary Education and is interested in Special Education, especially Dyslexia.

The University of Arizona was selected as one of 12 universities by the International Academic Partnerships Program (IAPP) in Cuba to establish mutually beneficial academic and research programs of interest to Cuba.
