WhatsApp New Students Group
The WhatsApp New Students Group has been created for you to connect with other new international students and our Global Ambassadors, current international students who help you adjust to life in a new place.
Eligibility
You must meet all of the criteria to be eligible to join.
- New student admitted for the fall or spring semester
- If you are an undergraduate degree-seeking student, you must sign up for the Virtual Orientation Experience.
- If you are a graduate student, you must accept your admission in GradApp.
When to Join
- May 1 for Fall admits
- November 1 for Spring admits
You may submit your request early, but it will not be reviewed until the submission window is open.
The New Students group will remain active until your first semester begins. Once the semester has started, you will receive notifications to join the WhatsApp Events and Announcements group for current students.
How to Join
- Submit the WhatsApp New Student Group Request e-form.
- Once we confirm you meet the criteria above and the submission window is open, you will receive an invitation to your University of Arizona email to join the group.
Group Expectations
As a group member, you will receive reminders about upcoming events, webinars, and important information for new students.

You are expected to be welcoming and respectful when participating in the group. If you’re unsure whether something is appropriate to ask or share, check with an administrator first.
The following are not allowed and may result in immediate removal from the group:
- Advertising or promoting businesses, products, services, or housing
- Requesting donations or promoting causes, events, groups, or pages without admin approval
- Sharing discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate content, including foul language, images, GIFs, or links
- Sending spam or sharing personal political or religious beliefs
- Sharing personal or sensitive information
If you see something concerning, please report it to a group administrator.
