International Education Week (IEW) is a time we take each year to recognize and celebrate the benefits of international education and global exchange. A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, universities and institutions around the globe are encouraged to create and participate in events around IEW, that promote global initiatives.
During IEW, Arizona International highlights efforts undertaken across the campus community that prepare Americans for a global environment, through study abroad programs, and engage current and future experts, leaders and scholars from abroad to study, teach and collaborate at the University of Arizona. In 2024, we will host and promote a range of events across campus including our International Talent Show.
On Thursday, November 21 at 7 p.m., Arizona International Student Services will host the International Talent Show at the Stevie Eller Dance Theater. For this year's FREE event, we've got more than 10 performers featuring Bollywood, piano and vocals, k-pop dance, Chinese foot-drum dance, classical Indian dance and more! Friends, faculty, and staff are invited to join us for this free event and celebrate U of A students from around the world. Register to attend.

ONGOING CULTURAL EVENTS:
Black, White and Gray Exhibit (through December 20, 2024) When the average person thinks about picturebooks, black and white illustrations seldom come to mind. But they do exist. This traveling exhibit from the International Youth Library (IYL) in Munich, Germany is on view for the first time in the U.S. in the Worlds of Words Center in the University of Arizona College of Education. The books in this exhibit show how illustrators use the expressive power of lines, shapes, contours and contrasts to create captivating pictures with a unique aesthetic and atmospheric mood.
Online Exhibit: MANY MEXICOS: Vistas de la Frontera: A Retrospective View The Arizona State Museum hosts this ongoing exhibition that interprets Mexican history through the voices that fashioned what changes and what endures in Mexico. Travel through four time periods: Pre-Columbian, Spanish Colonial, Forging Mexico, and Modern Times.
Online Exhibit: Ancient Mediterranean Collections The Arizona State Museum hosts this collection of some 520 ancient Near Eastern, Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan, and Roman objects. The vast majority of these were acquired in the early days of the museum’s history from the 1890s to the 1930s through exchange, donation, and less commonly, by purchase.
