Wildcat Voices: Introducing Athip

Welcome to Wildcat Voices: a series of interviews with UArizona international students. Over the coming months, we will introduce you to wildcats from around the world, to learn about their unique perspectives on college life at the University of Arizona. From aerospace engineering to molecular and cellular biology, these international students are making an impact in their fields of study and beyond. 

Our first Wildcat Voices episode features Athip, an international student from India, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering at the University of Arizona. Fascinated by space as a child, Athip is now pursuing his dream of helping humanity reach new heights through his research at UArizona's SpaceTREx lab.

“Space is the ultimate test. That's how I see it. It's the ultimate test for humanity. That's where my work and the work that we do at our lab really comes in, helping humanity achieve its potential in space."  

In the video, Athip speaks about the positive impact of his advisor in guiding his research as well as his career path and connections with the space industry. He talks about how he formed valuable networking connections with NASA officials and representatives, and also learned how to secure a foothold in industry.
