We Are Arizona International
Aligning our purpose and mission within the evolving education landscape, Arizona Global is now Arizona International
In July 2022, Arizona Global renamed as Arizona International. The change is limited to name only, with Arizona International continuing its mission to drive the University of Arizona’s international academic engagement, from multi-directional mobility to international collaboration and business development, and the provision of support for international students, faculty and scholars.
Arizona International’s business units also reflect the name change. Global Education and Global Locations will combine and be known as International Education. Global Affairs will change to International Affairs. These changes are reflected in the Arizona International online directory.
“We believe our name change best conveys our identity as the University of Arizona’s dedicated department for international services and resources and helps to distinguish our purpose and operations within the evolving education landscape,” said Daniel Palm, associate vice president, International Affairs.
Arizona International has successfully developed international operations for the University, creating new opportunities and modalities for students to stay on track or begin a degree program, wherever they are. Through recruitment to main campus, Global Direct online programs, new microcampus locations, and dual degree programs, international enrollments grew to a record 5,400 across main campus and abroad, according to the fall 2021 census.
In 2022, Arizona International has continued to grow the University’s international network of dual degree partnerships to 13 locations across 9 countries, offering 18 degree programs. New agreements have been formalized with Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University in Saudi Arabia and Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing, China, focusing on engineering management, innovation, sustainability & entrepreneurship, and statistics and data science, respectively.
As well as developing and supporting the international student cohort, Arizona International works to expand the outbound mobility opportunities available to local and international students. The Study Abroad team helped more than 400 students plan their overseas experience this summer, with opportunities available in more than 60 countries.
With the name change, Arizona International is excited to launch their new Arizona International LinkedIn profile. As an affiliate page of the University’s main account, Arizona International will now be able to connect with the global wildcat alumni network, international faculty and scholars, students and partners through LinkedIn to share news and milestones.
