The dual degree B.S. program in Environmental Science shared by UArizona and Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFU) in Yangling, China, reached a milestone June 17, 2024 with its first graduating class of 82 students.

University of Arizona International was pleased to have a number of staff members participating at this year's NAFSA Conference in New Orleans.

An international team of astronomers, including scientists from the University of Arizona, has used NASA's James Webb Space Telescope to study the disk of gas and dust around a young, very low-mass star. The results reveal the largest number of carbon-containing molecules seen to date in such a disk. The findings have implications for the potential composition of any planets that might form around this star.

Leadership from the University of Arizona and the Zuckerman College of Public Health visited with leadership from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas in Lima, Peru, to advance plans for a dual degree program.

Arizona International held an International Graduates and Community Reception at the Arizona History Museum. This event was organized to honor the significant achievements and contributions of the international community at the University of Arizona.

Microcampus students from around the world gathered at the Univerisity of Arizona main campus to celebrate graduation. Among them were students from Sampoerna University in Jakarta, Indonesia, American University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Jordan, and La Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas in Lima, Peru.

UArizona is ranked No. 93 – a two-spot increase from 2023 – in the 2024 edition of the Center for World University Rankings, released Monday. UArizona also placed at No. 48 among U.S. institutions and No. 26 among public colleges and universities.

University of Arizona international student Nguyen Dang, a senior from Vietnam majoring in food safety with a minor in microbiology, has been awarded the Merrill P. Freeman Medal as part of the 2024 Senior and Provost Awards.
