The University of Arizona Study Abroad team is proud to announce our newest Arizona Abroad Location: UA South Africa! This new study abroad program is offered in partnership with North-West University at their campus in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Potchefstroom, also known by the nickname “Potch,” offers a college-town environment perfect for students hoping to engage with their global peers.

Study Abroad Coordinator Sarah Simpson will be working with students headed to UA South Africa and is excited to see this program come to life.

“Studying abroad at UA South Africa will offer students a high quality and immersive cultural experience in a student-friendly South African town. Student will have the advantage to study at one of the top ranked universities in South Africa and Africa, in which the university emphasizes research and innovation. It's an ideal destination for students wishing to gain unforgettable travel opportunities and an enriching study abroad experience!” – Sarah Simpson

UA South Africa joins thirteen other current Arizona Abroad Locations. Through the Arizona Abroad program model, students can use most of their regular financial aid and scholarships and will pay their regular University of Arizona tuition rate. Accepted forms of funding can be found on the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid Study Abroad page. With this financial model, the Study Abroad Team aims to increase the financial accessibility of international programs and more seamlessly integrate the study abroad experience into students’ time at the University of Arizona. With the addition of UA South Africa, Arizona Abroad Locations can now be found in Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas.
