The Places You'll Go Passport Stipend
Award Amount: $200
The Places You’ll Go Passport Stipend is a $200 award designed to support students applying for their first U.S. passport. This one-time stipend helps cover the cost of a passport book for students who are applying to study abroad and have never had a U.S. passport book.
Eligibility
- Must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking University of Arizona student in good academic standing.
- Must have a Traveler profile on Via TRM, the platform in which study abroad applications are hosted
- Must be eligible to acquire a U.S. adult passport.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Be 18 years or older
- Never had a U.S. passport book
- Not have already applied for a U.S. passport book
- Priority will be given to students who are applying or already accepted to a for-credit, in-person Arizona International Study Abroad program that is is a faculty-led, exchange, summer research, internship program or is at an Arizona Abroad Location.
How to Apply
- Students must meet the eligibility criteria above and attend the required passport application session (view upcoming "Applying for Your First Passport" workshops on our Study Abroad Calendar).
- Eligible attendees from the passport application workshops will receive application form directly to their email to be considered for the Passport Stipend.
Terms and Conditions
- There are a limited number of awards available each term and students are encouraged to apply early. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection.
- Selected students are required to attend a workshop, held virtually or in-person that will guide them through the passport application process.
- Selected students must upload either their passport application receipt or the confirmation email received after applying for their U.S. passport.
- Stipend funds will be disbursed to the student’s Bursar account and may be applied toward any outstanding balances.
- Students may only receive this award once.
- This stipend is not eligible to be used for passport renewal costs.
