ACM Partner Pathways Program

Our partner university, ACM, offers University of Arizona students and alumni the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree tuition-free at the American College of the Mediterranean in France, Spain, and other countries around the Mediterranean through their Pathways Tuition Scholarship. While tuition is fully covered, students are still responsible for housing, student life fees, visa, and travel expenses.

The University of Arizona can nominate up to 15 students to embark on this program.  Offered on a first-come, first-served basis with a waitlist option.  Aimed towards UA seniors or alumni with a strong academic background and global interests.  Students studying international relations, art, French, political science, communications, education, or business are strongly encouraged to apply.

Global Community Fellowship

The Global Community Fellowship is a 13+ month program for recent university graduate and experienced professionals.  Fellows work at NGOs, schools, universities, and social enterprises across Asia to support community development, capacity-building, and education.  By working directly with communities, Fellows get hands-on experience learning how organizations in Asia are using creative and innovative methods of addressing critical social challenges.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Living and housing stipend while working at your post (based on local cost of living)
  • Approximately three weeks of training
  • Travel, emergency medical, and evaluation insurance
  • Access to mental health support services
  • Inta-Asia travel for program activities
  • Mini-grants for language study

Lafayette Fellowship in France

A new graduate scholarship offered by the French Embassy in the U.S. to mark the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence. The fellowship funds one year of master’s study in France for up to 30 outstanding American students at 15 top French universities.

Open to all fields—including STEM, humanities, social sciences, and the arts—with programs available in English or French. Fellows also join the French-American Leadership Program, gaining immersive experience in European innovation, culture, and policy.

Cynthia White Travel & Study in Italy Award

For students enrolled in a UA Classics course while studying abroad in Italy. Several $250 travel awards are available for:

  • Explore Italy (Spring Break 2026): 1-unit CLAS 499 course using Italian cities as your text. Deadline: Nov. 15, 2025.

  • Arizona in Orvieto (Summer 2026): Mid-May to late June program. Deadline: Mar. 3, 2026.

Applicants must submit a 250-word statement describing what they hope to gain from the course and trip. Include your name, UA email, award name (“Cynthia White Award”), and study abroad program. Email materials to religious-studies-classics@arizona.edu with “Cynthia White Award Application” in the subject line.

The Places You'll Go Passport Stipend

Award Amount: $200
The Places You’ll Go Passport Stipend is a $200 award designed to support students applying for their first U.S. passport. This one-time stipend helps cover the cost of a passport book for students who are applying to study abroad and have never had a U.S. passport book.

Eligibility

  • Must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking University of Arizona student in good academic standing.
  • Must have a Traveler profile on Via TRM, the platform in which study abroad applications are hosted
  • Must be eligible to acquire a U.S. adult passport.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Never had a U.S. passport book
  • Not have already applied for a U.S. passport book
  • Priority will be given to students who are applying or already accepted to a for-credit, in-person Arizona International Study Abroad program that is is a faculty-led, exchange, summer research, internship program or is at an Arizona Abroad Location. 

How to Apply

  • Students who attend a required passport application session will need to confirm their eligibility based on criteria above and will need to create a Via Traveler Profile.
  • Students who meet the eligibility criteria and attend the required passport application session will be able to complete a Google Form application to be considered for this stipend.
     

Terms and Conditions

  • There are a limited number of awards available each term and students are encouraged to apply early. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection.
  • Selected students are required to attend a workshop, held virtually or in-person that will guide them through the passport application process.
  • Selected students must upload either their passport application receipt or the confirmation email received after applying for their U.S. passport.
  • Stipend funds will be disbursed to the student’s Bursar account and may be applied toward any outstanding balances.
  • Students may only receive this award once.
  • This stipend is not eligible to be used for passport renewal costs.

Discover Award: Internship or Research Abroad Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,500
The Discover Award supports University of Arizona students participating in study abroad programs that include an internship or research component. This award recognizes students who are expanding their academic or professional experience through hands-on, experiential learning in a global context.

Eligibility

  • Must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking University of Arizona student in good academic standing.
  • Must be applying or accepted to a for-credit, in-person academic year, calendar year, semester or summer Arizona International Study Abroad program that is faculty-led, exchange, summer research, internship program or is at an Arizona Abroad Location.
  • Arizona International Study Abroad program must include a credit-bearing internship or a research component.
    • Programs not eligible for this award: Short-term Winter or Spring Break Programs, Non-UA Study Abroad Programs, Departmentally Managed Programs (DMP), fully-funded study abroad programs, virtual programs and non-credit student travel abroad. 

How to Apply

  • The application for the Discover Award will be available within eligible study abroad program applications in Via.
  • The deadline to submit this form depends on the term abroad. Students should apply earlier for the best chance of being selected.
    • Summer Faculty Led & International Internship programs: Feb. 15
    • Summer All Other Program Types: Mar. 15
    • Fall and Academic Year: Apr. 1
    • Spring and Calendar Year: Nov. 1
  • Students are required to attend a LifeLab session through Center for Career Readiness (CCR). Students must upload email verification of their attendance as part of their Achieve Award application.
  • After attending LifeLab, students must also upload an updated resume or LinkedIn profile that clearly connects their current skills and experiences to how these will translate to their international experience 

Terms and Conditions

  • Students may be asked to submit documentation verifying internship or research participation (e.g. placement confirmation or project proposal).
  • Students may not receive both the Discover Award and the Achieve Award. If eligible for both, students should apply to the Discover Award.
  • Students may not receive the Discover Award and the Garcia Family Foundation Scholarship. If you are eligible for both, you will automatically be awarded whichever scholarship provides the higher funding amount.
  • There are a limited number of awards available each term. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection.
  • This award is dependent on commitment to and completion of an eligible Arizona International Study Abroad program.
  • If an awarded student withdraws from their study abroad program, the scholarship will be revoked.

There & Back Again Award

Award Amount: $500
The There and Back Again Again Award supports University of Arizona students who have previously participated in Arizona International study abroad programs and are ready to take on a second international experience. This scholarship encourages students to continue their global learning journeys, deepen cross-cultural competencies, and expand on the academic, professional, and personal growth they began during their first experience abroad.

Eligibility

  • Must be a currently enrolled University of Arizona student in good academic standing.
  • Have successfully completed an Arizona International Study Abroad program that is faculty led, exchange or at an Arizona Abroad location.
  • Must be applying or accepted to a for-credit, in-person Arizona International Study Abroad program that is faculty-led, exchange, summer research, internship program or is at an Arizona Abroad Location.
    • Programs not eligible for this award: Non-UA Study Abroad Programs, Departmentally Managed Programs (DMP), fully-funded study abroad programs, virtual programs and non-credit student travel abroad.

  • The application for the There & Back Again Award will be available within eligible study abroad program applications in Via.
  • The deadline to submit this form depends on the term you will be abroad. Students should apply earlier for the best chance of being selected.

Achieve Award: High Merit & Employed Student Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,500
The Achieve Award supports high-achieving University of Arizona students who are balancing academic excellence with employment responsibilities. This scholarship recognizes the commitment and discipline required to maintain strong academic performance while being employed and encourages students to pursue global opportunities.

Eligibility

  • Must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking University of Arizona student in good academic standing with a U of A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the time of application.
  • Must be currently employed in a paid position at the time of application. Eligible employment positions include on- or off-campus roles where applicants receive regular wages (hourly or salaried) from an employer.
  • Must be applying or accepted to a for-credit, in-person academic year, calendar year, semester or summer Arizona International Study Abroad program that is faculty-led, exchange, summer research, internship program or is at an Arizona Abroad Location.
    • Programs not eligible for this award: Short-term Winter or Spring Break Programs, Non-UA Study Abroad Programs, Departmentally Managed Programs (DMP), fully-funded study abroad programs, virtual programs and non-credit student travel abroad.

New Horizon: New Start Study Abroad Award

Award Amount: $1000
In recognition of the drive and initiative of New Start alumni, Arizona International Study Abroad is proud to offer a $1,000 automatic scholarship to support participation in approved study abroad programs. This award is designed to support students who completed the New Start summer program to expand their global perspective and pursue transformative international experiences. No additional application is required, eligible students will automatically receive the scholarship after committing to their eligible study abroad program.

Eligibility

  • Must have completed the New Start Summer Program from 2025 onward.
  • Must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking University of Arizona student in good academic standing.
  • Must be applying or accepted to a for-credit, in-person Arizona International Study Abroad program that is faculty-led, exchange, summer research, internship program or is at an Arizona Abroad Location.
    • Programs not eligible for this award: Non-UA Study Abroad Programs, Departmentally Managed Programs (DMP), fully-funded study abroad programs, virtual programs and non-credit student travel abroad.
  • Must have a Traveler profile on Via TRM, the platform in which study abroad applications are hosted.

How to Apply

  • This award does not require an additional application beyond the Arizona International Study Abroad program application in Via.
  • Eligible New Start students are required to attend a Study Abroad session that will guide them through the study abroad planning and preparation process. The session must be attended before the student's selected Study Abroad program application deadline.

Travel & Discovery (TDY) Award for Military-Connected Scholars

Award Amount: $1000
The Travel & Discovery (TDY) Award is a $1,000 scholarship designed to support military-connected students pursuing global learning opportunities. Inspired by the military term “Temporary Duty (TDY)," the award honors the unique perspectives these students contribute to their temporary international host communities and the broader study abroad experience.

Eligibility

  • Must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking University of Arizona student in good academic standing.
  • Must reflect a U.S. military affiliation in UAccess demographic information or have an active VETS or ROTC Priority Registration Student Group indicator.
    • Military-affiliation generally refers to students who are Active Duty, National Guard/Reserves, Veterans, or the spouse or dependent of individuals who served/are serving in the U.S. Military.
      If your Military Affiliation or Priority Registration is not updated in UAccess, please contact the Military-Connected Benefits & Certifications (MCBC) office.
  • Must be applying or accepted to a for-credit, in-person Arizona International Study Abroad program that is faculty-led, exchange, summer research, internship program or is at an Arizona Abroad Location.
    • Programs not eligible for this award: Non-UA Study Abroad Programs, Departmentally Managed Programs (DMP), fully-funded study abroad programs, virtual programs and non-credit student travel abroad.
