Congratulations!

Degree Conferral
In order to complete or “confer” your University of Arizona degree, you must pass all required courses, earn the minimum number of credits, obtain at least a 3.00 cumulative U of A GPA, and complete your graduation forms known as “GradPath” (see “GradPath” for details). Your major might have its own specific, additional graduation requirements.
If you fail any courses needed to earn your U of A degree (either at U of A or your home institution), your conferral term will be deferred. This could negatively impact your eligibility to participate in U of A graduation ceremonies.
Please note that “graduation” and “degree conferral” are two different achievements at the University of Arizona. Graduation is a celebratory event (a convocation or ceremony) that occurs immediately at the end of each semester before any review of your academic record has been completed. You may participate in graduation before your degree is conferred. Your diploma will not be awarded during this event.
Degree conferral is the official awarding of your degree after all academic requirements have been reviewed and marked as complete. Your final, official transcripts from your home institution are required for this process. This review occurs after graduation and may take a while to complete. If any requirements are missing, your degree will not be conferred until you complete the missing requirements. Therefore, it is possible to participate in graduation and not have your degree conferred that semester.
If you have any final questions regarding your program's conferral requirements or your academic progress, please contact your U of A advisor.
Lastly, a $50 candidacy fee is required for degree conferral. Arizona International will pay this fee for you.
GradPath
To receive your University of Arizona diploma, you must first complete your graduation forms known as “GradPath.” However, before you can fill out the forms, U of A must receive your final, official transcript from your home institution. Once those are processed, you may begin submitting your GradPath forms through your UAccess Student Center here. Since transcript processing times vary, your U of A advisor will reach out to you when it is time to begin the forms.
For general information regarding GradPath, please visit the Graduate College’s user guide here.
If you are graduating soon and need detailed information about GradPath for your specific major, please visit your program page here.
Your degree will be officially conferred once the Graduate College confirms you have completed all forms and program requirements.

The degree conferral date is the official date on which the University of Arizona awards degrees for a given term. This date is the same for all students graduating in that term and is listed on all official documents, including diplomas and transcripts.
The degree posted date is the date your degree is officially recorded on your academic transcript. Unlike the conferral date, this can vary from student to student depending on when all degree requirements are completed and verified.
Each date serves a different purpose:
- The conferral date is a standardized milestone used for official documentation.
- The posted date reflects when your degree is processed and recorded internally by the university.
No, students do not have access to view their degree posted date. All official University of Arizona documents—including diplomas, transcripts, and eDiplomas—will display the conferral date only. However, students can view their degree status in UAccess Student Center under Academic Record -> Academic Summary -> Graduation Status.
Even though you can't view it directly, the degree posted date is important because it triggers several key processes:
- Diploma Printing: Physical diplomas begin printing based on this date.
- Transcript Orders: You can start ordering official transcripts that include your awarded degree.
- eDiploma Access: Your digital diploma becomes available within a few weeks after posting.
Once your degree is posted, you’ll be able to:
- Order official transcripts showing your degree (order through Parchment via UAccess Student Center).
- Order an eDiploma (a link to order will be sent to your Catmail within a few weeks after posting).
- Order Apostille and Notary services (see details on our website).
- Receive your physical diploma (mailed to your home institution a couple of months after posting).
