On this educational experience, students will have the opportunity to navigate into a cultural journey from a local to a global perspective where different voices, expertise and perspectives have a place to discuss topics related with the concept of the borderlands. This experience will start with some local activities to get ready and travel across different regions located in Mexico. The traveling schedule will take us from the North, Center, and South of Mexico to be part of its unique social ecosystem, historical framework, and diverse culture.
We will visit different Mexican higher education institutions where local students, faculty and community leaders will organize and host different academic and recreational activities for us. This interaction will also give us the opportunity to navigate into the local education system, connect with other identities and participate in an interdisciplinary and diverse community. In addition, we will visit local museums and tourism sites, experience traditions, volunteer in local organizations and be part of a sociocultural environment reside in Hermosillo, Mexico City and San Cristobal de las Casas. All these emblematic cities are in three different regions bringing a unique opportunity to visit Mexico.
