The primary goals of the International Student Teaching Program are for student teachers to :
1) gain an appreciation, understanding, and respect for another culture and to share part of their American culture
2) compare and contrast the American system of education with that of another country and bring back new ideas and strategies to their future teaching
3) grow both professionally and personally while serving as an ‘American Ambassador.’
Guanajuato, Mexico is a city in central Mexico and the capital of the state of the same name. The city was founded by the Spanish in the early 16th century and its growth was due to the abundantly available minerals in the surrounding mountains. The city's mines and religious and artistic sites contributed to the city being named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
