National Central University (NCU) is a well respected university in Taiwan. NCU teaches Mandarin classes for beginner through advanced students. NCU also offers a variety of classes taught in English in the sciences and humanities.

Location

Jhongli has a number of important cultural sites. During your semester or year at NCU you'll have time to go out and explore the city. Jungshan Park is a great place to relax and enjoy a natural landscape. Listen to traditional bells and drums as you walk through Yuankuang Temple. Shengchi Pavilion has a long history dating back to the Ching Dynasty. You will be amazed at the deep cultural heritage of Jhongli and Taiwan as you learn more about your surroundings.

Jhongli is located 20 miles from Taipei. You'll have easy access to Taipei through Taiwan's elaborate bus and rail network.

Housing

NCU has 16 student dormitories with more than 1,900 rooms which can accommodate up to 6,000 students. 59 percent of students at NCU live in the dorms. Telephone facilities and internet access are available in every room. There are also public spaces such as lounges, reading rooms, gyms, table tennis rooms for recreation, entertainment, and study.

Semester Cost

  • $50 Study Abroad Application Fee
  • Mandatory Geo Blue International Health Insurance at a rate of $3 a day (approximately $360 a semester)
  • You pay Main Campus UA Tuition & Fees to do an exchange and receive all of the financial aid you use on main campus.

  • Other estimated costs include but not limited to housing, transportation (air & local), visa, meals, books and supplies
  • UA Study Abroad scholarships are available based on eligibility
