Assistant Vice President, Mexico - US Affairs International Education

Having joined the University of Arizona in 2008, José develops partnerships with the science, technology, and innovation system of Mexico in all fields, from the environment to health sciences and corporate ethics. With more than twenty years of experience in international collaboration, José was formerly the Director for Planning and International Relations at the Science Directorate of the National Science and Technology Council of Mexico. Also, Dean of Extension University of Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, and Director of Traveling Exhibitions for the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico. José Has been active within the community, serving as a member of the Advisory Board of Programa de Redes Tematicas, Conacyt; Member of the Board of Trustees of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum; member of the Board at Amigos de Bellas Artes and at Texas A&M Mexico Center. He currently chairs the International Commission at the Secretary of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Mexico City. The UArizona Mexico Office is located in Mexico City, at the National University (UNAM) campus.
