Grants for Visiting Scholars

 Faculty Research Development Grant    
The new Faculty Research Development Grant (FRDG) provides travel support to tenured faculty for the development or continuation of international research. Proposals that have a clear potential to provide significant benefit to the career of the candidate or to yield long-term ties between The University of Arizona and individual scholars or research groups outside the United States are given preference. Only current research projects of exceptional value or proposed research activity of exceptional promise will be funded. This grant is administered by the Division of International Affairs, Office of the Executive Director.

Staff Professional Development Grant 
The new Staff Professional Development Grant (SPDG) provides funding for short term staff exchanges with foreign partner institutions of the UA. This program was designed specifically to provide opportunities for international exposure to UA appointed personnel and classified staff who are often on the front line in the interface with international partners. This grant is administered by the Division of International Affairs, Office of the Executive Director. 

Study Abroad Travel Grant 
All students participating on official UA study abroad programs are eligible to apply for a travel grant that provides funds toward the cost of travel to/from one of the exciting and innovative study abroad programs developed by The University of Arizona. This grant is administered by the Office of Study Abroad and Student Exchange.

International Emergency Student Aid Fund Coming Soon! 

There is limited amount of emergency aid available for international students enrolled at The University of Arizona.The emergency aid is reserved for international students who are experiencing severe financial hardship due to circumstances that are catastrophic and out of their control. This aid is administered by the Office of International Student Programs and Services.  

Visiting Scholar Grant  
The Visiting Scholar Grant (VSG) assists departments with bringing distinguished international scholars to Tucson. Disbursements from this fund may be applied only toward airfare between a U.S. port of entry and Tucson. The VSG is administered by the Division of International Affairs, Office of the Executive Director. 

Scholar Rescue Fund
Scholars under threat from any country and any discipline may apply for fellowships to support temporary stays at institutions worldwide. Awards are made to host institutions to support a specific scholar by the Institute for International Education (IIE) and are matched in-full or in-kind by host institutions. This grant is administered by the Office of International Faculty and Scholars.
